This site is an exhibition platform for artists and art-related events and venues based in the Scottish Borders. We aim to promote events, venues and artists to a global audience to expand the reach of the creative talent, the rich culture and the variety and type of locations and venues for art and related activities.
We are excited about promoting artists, their supporters, venues and events in the Scottish Borders. Get in contact and tell us more about yourself.
At the moment, we do not sell original paintings or drawings directly from this site. Why not? We feel it’s important for you to see the real artwork before committing to purchase. Contact us if you are interested in a particular painting or drawing, to check if it is on display in a venue, or to arrange to view.
First, check if the artist is selling the original artwork, or if they have chosen to make framed prints and posters available. Note that not all of the artwork on display here is for sale. If prints are available, this will be clearly shown on the artwork page and you can purchase the prints or posters in a variety of sizes and finishes from Redbubble.
Redbubble is an online marketplace for print-on-demand products. We make some of the paintings and drawings available as framed prints, large-format canvas and aluminium prints, and posters because we like the quality of their printing and products, and their efficiency. This helps us make high-quality artwork available at reasonable prices, and in a variety of formats to suit different tastes.
We trust them to produce high quality prints, with excellent quality frames. They produce and deliver items quickly, packing them appropriately and sending by courier. Here is a medium framed print (12×17in/30.5×43.3cm) we received recently.
The chequerboard patterns are QR codes, or Quick Response codes. We call them fancy barcodes.
Just like a barcode, it contains useful information. You can point a mobile phone camera at the QR code to scan it, and if your mobile isn’t too old, it will identify the barcode information for you. If the QR code contains information about a web page. your mobile can then open that page without you having to type the web page address.
QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
We use them to identify the web pages for individual paintings and drawings because they are very convenient; if the fancy barcode is on a web page, or if you see the QR code in a gallery or other venue, you can point your camera at the fancy barcode. You don’t have to type the location for the web page, just use your mobile phone camera.
Yes, it is.
